Parents are always welcome to be a part of any Youth & Family Ministry event. As a matter of fact, these events CANNOT happen without your help. Please make sure to involve yourself in at least one of these areas of need. Your signature is your commitment to us that we can count on you for this and we will not have to go looking at the last minute for someone (we understand special cases). Thank you so much for your desire to help and always let us know how we can help and what we can do better for you, your teen(s), and this ministry. We are always looking to grow. What You Can Expect From Us: ▪ FRIENDSHIP-We will provide a Christian peer group. We will make every effort to provide an environment where spiritual growth and fellowship can occur in the midst of Christian friendships. ▪ LEADERSHIP-We will strive to provide a team of responsible adult leaders who desire to know Jesus, and to take Him into the world, and model a devoted and passionate relationship with Christ. ▪ RESPONSIBILITY-While on
youth functions, we will take the responsibility of the teens in our
care. We take that responsibility very serious while they are under our
supervision. However, responsibility of teens during worship
service, before and after classes, on the church parking lot, etc lies
in the hands of the parents. When teen actions are brought to our
attention during these times, we will direct those comments to you as
parents.
The Parental Support Team is made up of willing parents who have a passion for teens and a desire to help families. Their mission is to give support to all parents in the ministry in times of crisis, but also to encourage them on a regular basis. Their second objective will be to involve all parents in the ministry in some capacity. They will encourage parents to get involved either in the form of chaperoning, food preparation, being a driver, teaching, or simply praying for a group of teens and their families. What are Core Groups? A CORE Group is a group of 10-15 teens that is age and gender specific. The purpose of a CORE Group is to give the teens in our youth group a smaller group to identify with and feel close to which will help foster deeper more meaningful relationships with each other, better opportunities for discipleship and mentoring from parents and other significant adults, and most importantly a group that will encourage each other to know God. What is a Core Group Leader? A CORE Group Leader is an adult of any age who has a desire to make a difference in the life of a teen. It is so important that our teens connect with several different Christian adults of all ages. These adults become mentors and examples of how to walk the Christian road. Scriptural reference Exodus 18:13-26. "You shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens." (verse 21)
